Cost Accountants (03)

Job Purpose

To control and co-ordinate all finance and accounting functions of the School/Unit by providing management with detailed analytical reports to aid decision making and controlling expenditures.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare operating and capital annual budgets and ensuring budgetary control.
• Timely production of monthly and quarterly management reports.
• Ensure that purchases of goods and services are within the budgetary parameters.
• Accurate and effective recording of students’ finance data, debtors and reconciliations for the assigned school.
• Under the Dean’s/Director’s/Head of Unit’s direction, ensure that the general accounting functions of the School / Directorate are carried out.
• Plan and hold regular school and departmental cost meetings.
• Advise and assist Deans and/or Head of Units on key financial deliverables

Qualifications and Experience:

• Form V or Grade 12 certificate with 5 “O” levels credits in 5 subjects including Mathematics and English
• The applicants should hold a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree qualification from recognised institutions or full ZICA
• Obtained either ACCA or CIMA full Professional Qualifications
• Fully paid up Member of ZICA.
• A minimum of five years experience in finance in a reputable organisation
