About Cities and Infrastructure for Growth Zambia (CIGZambia):
CIGZambia is a facility that provides high-quality independent technical advice and assistance to Zambian government bodies and private sector organisations engaged in projects/programmes that help harness the potential of Zambia’s cities and towns to act as drivers for economic growth and job creation. CIGZambia is funded by the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID).
The overall programme objectives are:
- increasing urban productivity;
- improving inclusive access to urban economic infrastructure services;
- increasing investment into urban economic infrastructure services; and,
- enhancing national and regional integration between cities.
About the Role
CIGZambia is seeking a technical advisor to support the work of a flexible and demand-driven technical assistance programme in the area of Financial Modelling. Reporting to Energy Component Lead, this position will play a critical role in achieving CIGZambia’s overall programme objectives.
Project Responsibilities
- Preparation of project financial models together with Component Leads and Project Teams (town planning / infrastructure / energy) to meet the requirement of project stakeholders, and investors / lenders in particular
Immediate Requirement
- Build financial model to support tariff re-negotiation with Maamba Power Company and Itezhi Tezhi Power Company
- Build project financial model to support the power options analysis for IDC under the Agro Luswishi Farm Block project
- Prepare financial model for solar demonstration project for Kukula Seed / BBM
- Prepare financial models for Energy Efficiency proposal for EDF / UNZA / Lusaka City Council
Key Qualifications
- Qualified accountant or qualification of a similar level in finance
- Experience in developing financial models for infrastructure, investment and project finance projects consistent with standards of financial institutions
- Experience of energy and infrastructure sectors
- Able to interpret and develop key macro-economic, operational and risk factors faced by infrastructure factors
- Able to propose key bankability criteria
- As an added advantage – able to prepare Economic Models to a professional standard that looks at the overall impacts on society of projects (fiscal revenues, health, education, job creation, climate impacts, gender and social impact etc.)
