1. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES: focus on ensuring the educational, social, physical, psychological and emotional well-being of the Learners.

2. MAIN DUTIES

• Prepare the classroom for the pupils
• Prepare all your lessons ahead of time.  Friday is a half day of teaching to be used by the teachers to prepare their lessons for the following week.  If you need additional time to prepare your lessons it should be done after school is dismissed or on your own time.
• See that all instructional material is available to each child as needed.
• Maintaining good order and discipline among learners under ones care and safeguarding their health and safety at all times.
• Be in the classroom before 8:00 a.m., every morning, Monday through Friday.  If you are unable to teach or must take a day off, please contact the Head Teacher or the CCHZ Manager as soon as you know you will not be teaching, so that other arrangements can be made in a timely manner.
• Know your goal for the school year and see that each child is taught the lessons they need to know for that year.
• English is the official language of Zambia; please encourage your students to use English whenever possible.  But, children are not to be punished for using their indigenous language
• Providing advice, guidance and support to the CCHZ Mothers and working closely with them to plan appropriate programs for the development of each child.
• As part of the orphanage team he/she supports the other staff members and mothers on issue relating to children.
• Develop and maintain good relationship with government and other stakeholders
• Carry out other duties as assigned

• Timely daily and weekly reporting.

7. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Grade 12 certificate, Diploma in Primary teaching ,
• Should be registered with
• Two years’ experience preferable
• Good interpersonal skills
• Registered with Teaching council of Zambia
• Good written and spoken English
• Strictly Applicant
