Chemonics International, a U.S. based international development consulting firm, is recruiting for various technical and program management positions for the anticipated USAID Zambia Rural Agricultural Enterprise Development (RAED) Project. This $10-25 million project will focus on facilitating access to finance for rural small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The activity will work to address financial service providers’ barriers to lending to SMEs and address barriers that limit agricultural enterprises’ ability to seek and qualify for loans. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Technical Positions: Chief of Party, Financial Services Specialist, Business Services Specialist, Enabling Environment Specialist. Cooperative and Microfinance Specialist, Agri-Finance Training Specialist, Gender and Inclusion Specialist
Qualifications
- An advanced degree in finance, banking, economics, business administration, development or another closely related field
- Minimum of seven years of professional experience in area of expertise
- Experience with multi-sectoral programs that address economic growth, financial services, impact investing, SME lending, financial market systems, training, or a combination of the above, especially in rural areas
- Experience working in Southern Africa, particularly in Zambia
- Experience with USAID programming highly preferred
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with government officials, international donors, and private sector stakeholders
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English required
Program Management Positions: Monitoring, Evaluating, and Learning Specialist; Finance and Operations Manager; Grants and Subcontracts Manager; Communications Specialist
Qualifications
- A degree in an area of expertise relevant to the position
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience, experience on large, complex, donor funded projects preferred
- Demonstrated experience in supervisory positions
- Experience with USAID programming, regulations and reporting requirements
- Experience working in Southern Africa, particularly in Zambia
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with government officials, international donors, and private sector stakeholders
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English required
