An international NGO active in humanitarian aid and development cooperation, implementing livelihood programs in refugee settlements for refugees and host community, is looking for a
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER X2
Responsibilities:
- Support and assist the Livelihood Officer & Entrepreneurship Trainer
- Supervise, coordinate and provide capacity building to Livelihoods Mentors on follow-up and mentoring of supported small businesses
- Work closely with Entrepreneurship Trainer on development of business plans and other potential applications of trained beneficiaries
- Identify potential business opportunities, market and financial linkages and actively participate on establishment, facilitation and development of linkages of project beneficiaries to such institutions and programs
- Support formation, development and capacity building of local cooperatives, market committees, associations, business groups and other community groups
- Identifying opportunities and innovative approaches to support livelihood business activities in the refugee settlement and host communities
- Supervise and support saving group activities including financial literacy
- Maintain necessary project administration and documentation
- Participate on regular reports, draw up action plans, assessment of progress, formulation of new project opportunities, etc.
Requirements:
- Tertiary education – university/college degree in business, economics, agronomics, business administration, marketing, social sciences (preferably in enterprise development and vocational training) or any other related subject)
- At least 2 years of practical experience with livelihoods and income generating activities, of which at least one year should be closely related to development of rural enterprises and business development
- Experience with project implementation
- Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is an advantage
- Good computer skills – MS office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Integrity and willingness to work and produce results in a dynamic environment
- Good time management, commitment, team worker, innovative, reliable and hardworking, able to work under pressure
- Motorcycle driving license is an advantage
Duty station: Mayukwayukwa Settlement (Western Province) or Meheba Settlement (North-Western Province, Zambia (indicate in your motivation letter preferred duty station)
