Title: Associate Project Manager
Project: Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Program for Southern Province of Zambia
Reporting to: The ENT Manager
Duration: 40 Months
PREREQUISITES – EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 4 year experience in program or project management preferably in public health or health services management
- Relevant academic degree
- Experience in project design, monitoring, review and evaluation to ensure overall effectiveness for all stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain strong cross-cultural professional relationships
- Excellent verbal, written and public speaking skills; ability to produce concise, detailed reports as necessary
- Detail oriented self-motivated to improvement, effective change agent, not satisfied with status quo
- Strategic thinker with critical thinking skills; accountable for achieving desired results
- Ability to understand and relate to management, Staff and the Ministry of Health, district and local government agencies and develops positive working relationships with their leaders and staff to achieve program goals and objectives in a spirit of collaboration and cooperation
- Strong sense of personal and professional integrity and a track record of ethical conduct in dealings with others
- Strong people management skills and ability to foster teamwork with intercultural competence
- Possesses a sense of humor, able to give and take readily, emotionally stable, highly reliable, consistently meets deadlines
- Takes initiative, multi task, and creative to solve problems and overcome obstacles; perseveres through obstacles and challenges
- Willingness to visit health institutions located in the Southern Province quarterly
- Ability to work long hours when necessary to meet deadlines and achieve desired results
- Financially astute and familiar with budgets, financial statements and financial reporting requirements for funding agencies to accurately provide status updates
- Willingness to commit to CURE’s Statement of Faith and Child Safeguarding Policy
- Provides monthly written reports including summary statistical data to the Executive Director as necessary fortimely updates on the program’s status including management objectives for the next 30-60-90 day period

OVERALL MISSION
Working closely with the Beit CURE Hospital (BCH) ENT Manager, The Associate Project Manager will be responsible for planning, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of the ENT Project for the Southern Province of Zambia portfolio in line with The Project Manager proactively contributes to team and related ENT Project activities including learning, staff meetings, training courses, relationship building and other duties as relevant. In conjunction with various stakeholders, this position will be responsible for the coordination of outreach activities of the BCH in the Southern Province
PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION
- Conduct regular monitoring visits with partners not less than quarterly
- Provide constructive feedback to partners as necessary.
- Ensure expectations of the Program are clearly communicated to all stakeholders and
- When conducting monitor visits, evaluates effectiveness of activities and communicates clearly on issues related to appropriateness of activities and approaches by partners
DOCUMENTATION
- Record results and analysis of project monitoring results/data and important/ strategic findings (lessons learned, best practices, evidence base). Ensure that project monitoring data will be easily accessible for use in project evaluations as well as for evidence to be used in national level advocacy and alliance-building.
- Develop scheduled communication (verbal and written) with partners regarding the status of implementation of project activities and act accordingly to help and facilitate the resolution of all problems as they may occur, while documenting/filing all important communications for future reference.
- Regularly check and review project documentation by partners
QUALITY MANAGEMENT
- Ensure that processes and procedures meet the project requirements for quality management and implementation of projects’ activities
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations
- Ensure that principles and practice of disability inclusive development are woven through the design and implementation of the Project
- Identify needs and implement training and capacity development measures as appropriate, and in conjunction with partners.
ACHIEVING RESULTS
- Develop contacts with relevant external parties to develop network and alliances
- Assist partners to plan and organize seminars on projects’ successes and positive results supported by evidence, inviting relevant district, provincial and national levels government offices and others as appropriate
- Conduct scheduled evaluations and share results accordingly
