Reporting

Lumwana Mining Company
Limited (LMC), a copper mining company owned by Barrick is situated in the
North Western region of Zambia, some 300 km west of the Zambian Copperbelt and
95 km south west of the provincial capital of Solwezi. The mine is a multi-pit,
multi staged operation mining approximately 100MT of ore and waste per annum
and producing copper concentrates containing an average of 120,000 tonnes of
copper metal per year over a twenty (20) year mine life, making Lumwana the
largest single open cut copper mine in Africa. The Company is now looking for an
experienced and qualified individual to be considered for the position of Ancillary Shift Supervisor

Summary
Reporting to the Ancillary
Shift Supervisor you will be responsible for
maintenance of Mobile Equipment and ensuring Barrick Standards, Policies &
Procedures are in place, met and consistently complied with. Furthermore, this
role ensures all equipment targets and work management KPI’s are achieved
whilst also meeting the maintenance budget, with safety above all else. Your duties will include but not limited to the

Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, diagnose
faults and repair electrical wiring - Diagnose, service and repair
faults on electronically controlled vehicle systems such as engine management
systems, hydraulic control systems, transmission control systems and machine
monitoring systems - Be able to read and understand
wiring diagrams produced by various OEM`s - Be able to read and understand
workshop manuals and be able to follow the diagnostic procedures required for
specific faults - Be able to use diagnostic
tools including the use of a multi meter, a laptop computer and pressure gauges - Repair systems to OEM`s
specifications - Must have the ability to
understand technical instructions - Test, replace, and install
equipment such as generators, alternators, starter motors and batteries - Replace electrical components
on vehicles - Clean and test components
- Ensure hazardous substances
are disposed of appropriately and Health Safety and Environment (HSE)
requirements are met - Maintain a professional work
ethic through effective, honest communication with supervisors, peers, and
operations personnel at all times. - The position will be expected
to positively impact and contribute to the performance of the company through
leadership and individual activity. - Plan, schedule and monitor
work of support personnel to assist immediate supervisor.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Craft Certificate in Electrical or related discipline
- Member of Engineering Institution of Zambia
- At least 5 years’ experience in the mining industry
preferably open pit
- Must have experience in repairing vehicle air
conditioning systems - Must have experience of working on large plant
and machinery - Able to pass pre-employment medical.
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Valid driver’s license.
