Barloworld Equipment provides total solutions in earthmoving equipment, materials handling and power systems and related equipment in 10 countries in Southern Africa. As the appointed Caterpillar dealer in the region, Barloworld Equipment supplies equipment, parts and service to customers in the mining, construction, handling, agricultural and energy industries.
Job Purpose:
Based at Lusaka Office, reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate be responsible for driving the business for the Construction Sector and the Chinese Accounts in Zambia. The candidate will need to show understanding and proactive approaches to market dynamics driving infrastructure development in the territory. They will be responsible for the execution strategy of annual business plans to bring in revenue and consolidate Caterpillar’s market share in the sector. The role will include a dedicated amount of time traveling to visit customers to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction. They will manage the following tasks:
Outputs:
- Grow construction sales & aftersales revenue in the region
- Develop & consolidate strategic relationships with Chinese customers & key government agencies
- Good understanding of Chinese Mining & Construction Sector
- Drive & expand Digital strategies in the Aftersales business
- Ensure excellent parts & service delivery to customers
- Develop strategic plans to win deals in the construction sector
- Managing the Construction Aftersales Team
- Develop people within the company & create a pipeline of talent
- Oversee the Lusaka depot facility
- Liaise with Principal (Caterpillar) on regional construction objectives
- Ability to frequent travel to customer sites nationwide
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, or Engineering Equivalent
- Fluent in Mandarin Chinese (Certification an added advantage)
- Zambian Citizen
- MBA or Business Post –graduate degree equivalent an added advantage
- Excellent knowledge of the Zambian construction landscape
- Minimum 3- 5 years’ experience in the Construction industry
- Proficiency in MS office ERP systems/packages
- Product knowledge of the Caterpillar Brands
- Clean driver’s license
- Good knowledge on SHEQ & Facility Management standards
