Description
The Administrative Management Assistant directly supports the Management Officer by providing the full range of administrative, clerical, and office management functions including maintaining the Management Officer’s schedule; drafting all internal and external correspondence, maintaining contacts with external counterparts, arranging transportation, travel and service requests, scheduling appointments, arranging lodging, transportation, and expediter services for official visitors, and liaising with host government offices such as MFA, ZRA, and RTSA, assisting accredited diplomats with the preparation of VAT refunds.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Five years of prior work experience in accounting and/or secretarial fields is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have good knowledge of local regulations pertaining to diplomatic registration. Should have working familiarity with relevant administrative regulation including the Foreign Affairs Manual.
Education Requirements:
Successful completion of senior secondary school and two years of college-level study in accounting or a secretarial field is required.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Level IV written and spoken English is required. This may be tested.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite with advanced keyboarding skills. Standard IT and numeric skills are required.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Lusaka, Zambia may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
