Description
Aller Aqua Zambia Limited is the Zambian operation of the Danish multinational stock-feeds firm Aller Aqua A/S. Aller Aqua is Europe’s #3 aquafeed producer. Aller Aqua in Zambia operates Sub-Saharan Africa’s largest and most technologically advanced aquafeed factory. The factory commenced production in September 2017 and serves Yalelo Limited as its cornerstone client. Aller Aqua Zambia is now seeking a Logistics Officer to be based in Lusaka.
Purpose:
Ensuring that either raw materials or finished goods are delivered to the right location, on time, to the quality required, cost-effectively and efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and track movement of goods through logistic pathways
- Execute logistics plan to move materials to reach destinations on schedule
- Review freight rates and other transportation costs to keep working costs low
- Ensure quality of materials is preserved throughout the logistic processes
- Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies and processes across the organization to improve operational and financial performance
- Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers
- Recommend carriers/suppliers and monitor service against performance criteria
- Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations/customs regulations and legal and health and safety requirements
- Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issues
- Identify and resolve any inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure IT systems in place are effective, maintained and accurate

Qualifications
- At least a relevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering bachelor’s degree preferred
- At least three (3) years previous experience as logistics officer or related position
- Knowledge of Supply Management Software
- Enterprise Resource Planning,
