Description

To ensure optimal stock of commercial sales items are maintained at the warehouse and shops to support the delivery of the sales budget. Manage the importation process, inventory control for both capital and operating expenditure and warehousing and related activities in line with set systems and procedures.

REPORTING TO SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT DIRECTOR, THE MAIN DUTIES ARE:

Inventory management processes and procedures:

  • Implements Inventory policy and maintains stock at approved levels to avoid excess/ stock outs and ensure business continuity
  • Ensure FIFO is applied at dispatch of stocks
  • Enforces approved processes and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate stock records
  • Responsible for maintenance of adequate stocks at the shops to avoid excess/stock outs

Manage inventory and Stock Availability

  • Ensures purchase requests for commercial stocks are raised in time and deliveries called off in time
  • Takes charge of, plans and manages import activities.
  • Liaises with clearing agents to ensure the timely receipt of imported goods and services

Outsource Vendor Management

  • Process management for Clearing bill
  • Timely release of Purchase Orders/ Payments
  • Management of key government stakeholders

Reporting

  • Capex –ensure timely receipt and capitalization of capital purchases of goods and services
  • Prepares Imports and Inventory reports for management decision making e.g. Inventory valuation & trend reports for business decision making, Imports Tracker on Duty Payments, Clearance Status

REQUIRED SKILL AND KNOWLEGDE

  • Degree in Business Administration, Engineering
  • Masters would be preferred additional qualification
  • Functional knowledge of SCM operations
  • Preferably knowledge on ERP/Oracle for SCM
  • 5 + years in Inventory management for technical equipment, parts and related
  • 2 + years of experience at Senior Manager level
  • Excellent knowledge of import and export procedures
  • Sound understanding and extensive experience in Logistics and Warehousing
  • Telecom experience – added advantage
