General Manager at Africanza Lodge & Restaurant Ltd

Africanza Lodge and Restaurant is a Zambian Company wholly owned by the Copperbelt University, specializing in exquisite international cuisine and excellent lodging as its core business. The Company, situated in the heart of Parklands Kitwe, seeks a suitable candidate to fill the position of General Manager, who will be reporting to the Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities:

The General Manager shall provide overall leadership, guidance, and direction to the Lodge and Restaurant as it strives to provide the highest standards in quality and services. The Manager is responsible for continually focusing on achieving profitability, growth and expansion through revenue generation, cost control, guest satisfaction, realizing short and long term strategic and operational plans and developing employees, while maintaining the integrity and goodwill of the business.

Technical Skills Required:

• High ethical standards, analytical ability, good communicator
• Diverse experiences in sales, management and administration
• Computer Literacy
• Develop long term strategic plans and short term action plans and strategies that impact on growth and survival of the business.
• Establish training and development programs to enhance employee knowledge of best practices
• Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
• Ability to function effectively in a team environment as team leader and to build a winning team.

Experience: A minimum of five year’s experience in hotel or hospitality industry required. Premise and liability accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable.

Qualifications: Ideal candidates will possess a Higher Diploma in Catering and Hotel Management studies or Diploma in Hospitality Management. Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business Administration, Hospitality Services, Food and Nutrition, or other related field will be an added advantage.
