With Country Programs in South Sudan, Uganda, Zambia, Somalia and Kenya, AAH-I has over 20 years ‘experience working with communities in conflict and post –conflict situation
Action Africa Help International Zambia (AAHZ) is partnering with the Catholic Relief Service (CRS) to improve the nutritional situation of people living in food insecure households in Kawambwa and Mansa districts, especially women of reproductive age and children under 2 years. AAHZ will support in the implementation of the Care Group intervention of the Food and Nutrition Security for Enhanced Resilience (FANSER) Luapula project in Kawambwa district. AAHZ will work with CRS to reach the target of 9,000 women of reproductive age who receive an integrated package of nutrition services. The project covers twenty eight (28) months, starting from September 2019.
In order to achieve that, AAH-I is seeking to recruit well qualified, experienced and innovative individuals to fill the following positions:
1.0 Program Manager x 1
Position Title: Programme Manager
Position Type: Fixed Term Contract
Reports to: Country Programme Manager
Location: Kawambwa
1.1 Job Purpose
To oversee Care Group implementation across Kawambwa in close coordination with CRS Food and Nutrition Security for Enhanced Resilience (FANSER) staff. The Programme Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of the whole of the proposed change, co-ordination of the programme’s projects and management of their inter-dependencies.
1.2 Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Planning and designing the programme, and proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective actions
- Defining the programme’s governance arrangements
- Organizing programme’s and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization
- Implementing and managing changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.
- Meeting with stakeholders to make communication easy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions on services
- Producing accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle
- Ensuring goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality and team member performance
- Identifying and analyzing programme/project risks, and initiating necessary interventions
- Identifying training needs and planning training programmes to ensure that all staff on the Managing the programme’s budget
- Preparing periodic programme progress reports for the funding partners
1.3 Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Management, Social Sciences or any other related field
- At least 5 years’ experience of working with an NGO

2.0 Monitoring and Evaluation Officer x 1
Position Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Position Type: Fixed Term Contract
Reports to: Programme Manager
Location: Kawambwa
2.1 Job Purpose:
To ensure programme quality, effectiveness and learning in the delivery of the programme. The job provides technical support to the project team on M&E related issues of development of the M&E approach and systems which include; monitoring tools, reporting and capacity building of staff in M&E.
2.2 Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitoring the implementation of the Nutrition Project
- Leading project team in the development and implementation of an M&E system and oversee routine program monitoring activities
- Ensuring production of timely and high quality program monitoring and evaluation reports for evidence based accountability
- Providing support to performance evaluation process in collaboration with Donors and the independent evaluation team
- Facilitating development of participatory monitoring and evaluation systems
- Responsible for data review, analysis and reporting
- Collecting data from Project field officers to measure achievements against the performance indicators from all projects
- Developing the overall framework for Projects Performance Monitoring Plan with relevant data collection systems
- Providing leadership and support to staff working at community level
- Spearheading the development of participatory monitoring and evaluation systems including for enhanced accountability in the programme
- Lead project team in the development and implementation of an M&E system and oversee routine program monitoring activities. Ensure the quality and relevance of the project’s monitoring and evaluation design.
- Assisting with the preparation of regular reports as per donor requirement.
2.3 Minimum Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Project Monitoring and Evaluation, or in statistics, demographics, public policy, international development, economics, or any other related field
- At least 3 years practical work experience in Monitoring, Evaluation & Research, preferably in Savings Groups
- Experience in participatory methodologies is an added advantage
2.4 Skills and attributes needed

3.0 Data Quality Clerk x 1
Position Title: Data Entry Clerk
Position Type: Fixed Term Contract
Reports to: Programme Manager
Location: Kawambwa
3.1 Job Purpose
To enter data into FANSER database. The job holder will need to efficiently manage a large amount of information that is often sensitive or confidential.
3.2 Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparing and sorting documents for data entry
- Entering data into database software and checking to ensure the accuracy of the data that has been inputted
- Resolving discrepancies in information and obtaining further information for incomplete documents
- Creating data backups as part of a contingency plan
3.3 Minimum Requirements
- Computer literacy and familiarity with various computer programs such as MS Office
- Ability to work under pressure
- Paying attention to detail
- Good command of English
4.0 Nutrition Field Supervisors x 5
Position Title: Nutrition Field Supervisors
Position Type: Fixed Term Contract
Reports to: Programme Manager
Location: Kawambwa
4.1 Job Purpose
To oversee Health Promoters, Sanitation Promoters and Nutrition Volunteers and high-quality delivery of household lessons
4.2 Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyzing nutrition situation and prevailing trends
- Sensitizing vulnerable communities on malnutrition and ways of improving household food security and nutrition supporting sustainable activities such as agriculture to support better nutrition
- Conducting demonstrations in food processing, and training on preservation of locally available foods
- Collaborate with Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer to set up monitoring and reporting mechanisms and participate in M&E activities as necessary
4.3 Required qualifications
- Diploma in nutrition and food sciences
- At least three (3) years practical experience implementing community food and nutrition activities in government or non-governmental organisations
- Experience in planning, budgeting, coordination and managing results
- Proven ability to provide representation at donor and District level meetings
4.4 Skills and attributes needed

5.0 Gender Animator x 1
Position Title: Gender Animator
Position Type: Fixed Term Contract

5.1 Job Purpose
To support gender mainstreaming across Care Group activities
5.2 Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Working with the Care Group in supporting integration of gender in their service delivery
- Advising the programme team on gender related issues, concerns, trends and policies
- Conducting awareness meetings on gender matters
- Providing technical assistance to partners in assessing the strength of their approach to gender mainstreaming across the programme
- Attending gender meetings in the district
5.3 Required qualifications
- Advanced Certificate in Gender, Women Empowerment, or related discipline such as Community Development
- Experience in handling gender related matters
